Behind The Scenes

We have lots of fun, as you can see in the photos below, mixed in with lots of work.
Harvest season is our busiest time with more to do than we have time for.
In the off season, it is a slower pace. Scroll down to see what we do...

Our Farm Store is open until Thanksgiving for you to come out and pick up your fresh sweet apple cider, apples and winter squash for winter Feasts that you have planned...

Winter Farmers Markets on Saturdays...

Make cider weekly until March or April depending on the crop...

Pack out bushels of apples for our wholesale and retail customers until March or April...

Lots of pruning beginning in late December and January...

Cleaning up!!

Learning (by going to regional, national and sometimes international fruit meetings)...

Planning for the next season...

Ordering seeds, plants, boxes, bags, replacement parts, etc etc ...

LOTS of bookwork, and ...

Then we start our next growing season about two weeks before the first green leaves start showing on the first apples trees that wake up usually in late March or Early April!

All of this is almost like a vacation compared to Harvest!!! It is all at our own pace, until that first hint of green starts growing, then our schedules are dictated by our crops and the weather.
